Services

We offer a wide and varied selection of indigenous and exotic trees, both large and small, that potential customers are encouraged to view, with a visit to the nursery. Well-qualified and experienced personnel are ready to assist and advise you.

Site visits to help clients make important decisions can be arranged. A full professional delivery, planting and installation service is on offer as well as dedicated aftercare where requested. Additional services include large tree relocation, rescue and harvesting as well as specialist service regarding indigenous cycads (Encephalartos species).

Large desirable trees and cycads can be saved from sites where they are not wanted, at no charge.

A wise old man once stated that the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago!

Life is a garden – dig it!

Over time we have developed and enjoyed working relationships with numerous associated subcontractors & service providers such as landscapers, garden designers, Arborists, tree-fellers, irrigation contractors, water feature specialists, building contractors and last but not least, garden maintenance contractors. All of which are responsible professionals in their field.

Should you require a referral to any of the above service providers, we will gladly furnish you with their contact details.

Supply

We are wholesale growers supplying trees of various sizes and species to both wholesale and retail clients. Please refer to our availablilty list under the Stock Lists tab for available Species and sizes. Please also refer to our terms and conditions regarding purchases.

Delivery

As most of our trees from a 250L size up require a crane truck to deliver, we offer a delivery service. Delivery only, is just that- for 500L trees and larger, we would deliver and place the tree in a pre-dug hole (according to hole dimensions specifications given) as long as the access is easy. Before a delivery is quoted for our sales team would find out about the access, and quote accordingly. Should a site visit be necessary to establish what size truck is necessary to deliver the selected tree, we would do so free of charge. This is often also necessary where access is more complicated. Easy access would mean that the crane truck would be able to stop on a level surface, with outriggers, right next to the planting hole. The reach determines the size tree we would be able to place in a specific position. 250L size trees and smaller are also delivered, but would be combined with other deliveries to the same area to ensure a full load.

Collection

We are also happy to load trees (up to 250L), should you wish to collect them with a bakkie or trailer. It is advisable to let us know at least a day in advance when you will be collecting an order. If collecting, you would need to bring along the necessary materials to secure the load. Please refer to our terms and conditions. Collection of 500L and larger would require the use of our crane truck so would need to be booked in advance. A 10% loading fee would be charged for this.

Installation

Installation of trees includes, delivery, digging of holes, compost, fertilizer and closing of holes. Installation is also quoted taking into consideration the size of the tree, quantity of trees as well as the access. Please refer to our terms and conditions.

A site visit may be required to assist the client in choosing the right species and size tree/s for their requirements.Site visits are usually carried out by Dean Kingham, the owner, or alternatively by one of the other professionals employed at Habitat Nursery who have years of experience and knowledge. Site visits are not usually charged for. Please bear in mind that a site visit is not to be confused with Landscaping services. We unfortunately do not offer a full Landscaping service at this time.

Relocation

Should you require relocation of a mature tree, we could assist. Not all species are relocated successfully, so we would be happy to advise you in this regard. Trees that are viable to relocate would ususally only be relocated during the Winter Months. Please contact the office for more information on Relocation. 021 855 4400

Harvesting

Should you have a mature tree that you need removed, we could assess whether it would be viable for us to harvest and resell. Not all species take well to transplanting so it would be best to speak to the sales team and if possible send a photo of the tree as well as the access. You can send this to: sales@habitattreenursery.co.za / info@habitattreenursery.co.za
